The tradition of holiday tree comes from Germany. In the 16th century devout Germans brought into their houses the decorated trees. Somebody was made Christmas pyramids and decked them with lights and evergreens. Candles was added to a holiday tree by Martin Luther in the same time. Idea for lights appears in the time of walking. Mentioned protestant reformer one December evening saw brillinace of stars shining between evergreens.

Small group of people know that majority of 19th century American citizens found holiday trees as crankiness. One of the first record about Christmas tree in that area appeared in 1830s and say about settlers from German as a proprietors of Christmas tree. Some say that settlers from German decorated Christmas trees even in 1747. But, as late as the 1840s Christmas trees were treated as symbols of pagan and they weren’t accepted by the most of residents of America.

The word „carol” actually means dance or a song of joy and praise. In the past carols were songs of pagans those were sung during celebration of Winter Solstice when people danced around stone circles. Early Christians took over pagan songs and gave Christian songs. In 129 the song „Angel’s Hymn” was popular and sung during Christmas service in Italy. Another Christmas hymn was written in 760 for the Greek Orthodox Church. Then many composers all over the Europe started writting Christmas carols. However majority of holiday carols was written in Latin and because of that a lots of Christians were not intrested in singing holiday carols.

Holiday tree and Christmas carols are beautiful customs those are worth continued from generation to generation. The knowledge about long-standing history of Christmas tree and holiday carols makes them even more unusual.
